Highlights from Greece, in picture order: -Visiti Highlights from Greece, in picture order:

-Visiting the site of St. Paul’s baptism of Lydia, the first baptism in the West (Acts 16:11-15). We renewed our baptismal promises here!
-Visiting monasteries built upon rock towers in Meteora
-Visiting multiple cities that St. Paul preached in and ministered to, like Athens, Philippi, and Corinth (pictured here, an altar from a Church built on top of the tribunal).

Now we fly to Rome for the last leg of our trip!

Praying for you, Notre Dame!
We concluded our time in Turkey by attending a pra We concluded our time in Turkey by attending a prayer service with Pope Leo in Istanbul and visiting Nicaea (one day after Pope Leo did), the location of the First Ecumenical Council in 325. The Council of Nicaea declared that Jesus Christ is truly God. Because Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, we are saved by His death and are able to participate in the life of God. This Council 1700 years ago affirmed this incredible reality and is part of the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed we pray every Sunday.

We have landed in Thessaloniki, Greece as we continue to follow the footsteps of St. Paul!

Fr. Mark hosted “Adoration for Children” and we had a wonderful turn out of so so many children and families. I wish I would’ve counted!

Thank you Char for hosting us all for snacks and fellowship to follow. These are blessed memories and we’ve been contemplating what heaven looks like (per Gus’s questions) all afternoon.
“Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us” -St. Phillip

After visiting Laodicea and Colossae (St. Paul’s Letter to the Colossians), we stopped at Hierapolis, where the apostle St. Phillip was martyred (perhaps by crucifixion). This Church was built on the site of his martyrdom.

Tommorow, we continue visiting cities that John the Apostle wrote to in the Book of Revelation-Sardis and Philadelphia.

Praying for you, Notre Dame! It was a blessing to visit the House of Mary and the Apostle John in Ephesus. On the Cross, Jesus entrusted His Mother to John. It is believed that John and Mary fled Jerusalem after St James was beheaded, settling in Ephesus. It is a small and humble house fitting of Jesus’ “lowly handmaid,” spending her last years here. I experienced such peace here knowing that Mary walked these very grounds. While in Ephesus, we also prayed at the original tomb of St. John (group photo).

Notre Dame, Our Mother, pray for us!

First day in Turkey included stops at the Hagia So First day in Turkey included stops at the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque (seen in video). Something new I learned is that mosques don’t have any human images or statues. How great it is that we, as Catholics, have Crucifixes and images of Jesus, Mary, and the Saints! It is a sign of Jesus’ Incarnation and His desire to be intimately known to us. Praise be Jesus Christ! Day 4: St. Paul’s Birthplace
This morning we flew to Adana (Turkey) and drove to Tarsus, the birthplace of St. Paul. We visited St. Paul’s Well, believed to be the site of his house here. We got to fill up our bottles with water from the well, believed to possess healing properties. “The higher we go, the better we shall hear the voice of Christ.” -St. Georgio Frasati

Cappadocia, one of the early centers of Christianity, is famous for its sunrise hot air balloon rides. Christians literally carved out Churches and houses in the sides of rocks here to hide during persecution in the 3rd and 4th centuries AD. It was incredible to pray in these caves knowing that early Christians worshipped and celebrated Mass there.
Seminarian Josh and his classmates are officially Seminarian Josh and his classmates are officially on pilgrimage! Their pilgrimage, following the footsteps of St. Paul, will take them to stops in Turkey, Greece, and Italy. Listen in to hear Josh speak on “Why Pilgrimage?” Stop by the map in the narthex of the church to follow along with “Where in the World is Seminarian Josh?”
